Winners announced for the 15th IPD European Property Investment Awards

IPD presented the winners of its European Property Investment Awards during the gala dinner reception at its 15th European Property Investment Conference.

The annual awards, presented by IPD’s Peter Hobbs and Laurent Ternisien, recognised regional European funds that outperformed during the three years to December 2012.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in Lisbon, Hobbs said, “These awards represent the pinnacle of achievement for portfolio performance across a range of markets – the winners have
outperformed their peers, sometimes by a significant margin across a large number of portfolios, over not just one or two, but over three years. It is clearly exceptionally difficult to deliver such
outperformance over that timescale, so the portfolio managers and their teams deserve many congratulations for such achievements”.

Determined by IPD’s standardised performance measurement procedures, the awards recognise independently verified investment performance by pension and life funds, pooled funds, property investment companies and other professionally managed real estate portfolios across Europe. To be eligible for the annual awards, all funds were measured by IPD’s Portfolio Analysis Service, which provides investors with an independent audit of returns against a relevant market or sector benchmark. The awards identify consistently measured real estate investment performance inEuropean regions across two categories:

Balanced: highest total return relative to the IPD All Property benchmark annualised over 3 years to December 2012
Specialist: highest total return relative to the IPD sector benchmark annualised over 3 years to December 2012
